I made the move to Georgetown 4 years ago after I had my son. I knew we needed more space, and I wanted more than anything for my little one to grow up in a family friendly community. Having been in the real estate industry for over a decade I knew it was an up and coming area and that my investment would have great returns. Fast forward 4 years and my home value has already gone up a whopping 85% year to date and 21% year to year.

For those of you who haven’t made the move yet, don’t fret. The market is predicted to level out a little bit in 2022. Home values will continue to increase, but they’re predicted to do so at a slower pace. Right now we’re seeing a large spike in sale price as there is very little supply, and huge demand. So, Georgetown residents, it’s a sellers market right now, want to see what you could get? 

It’s easy for me to just sit here and tell you that Georgetown, ON is a great place to live, work and play.  But let’s let the numbers speak for themselves: 

Average home sale price: $1,065,457

Detached: 110% of asking

21.6%

Aside from the stats above, there are many other great reasons to choose Georgetown as your new home. One of my favourite things to do is take a stroll down main street popping into the local shops, grabbing a coffee at Silvercreek Social Haus (their flat white miel is to die for!) or meeting a friend for a drink at Uncorked on Main (I’m a sucker for a nice Italian Pinot Grigio). During the summer we also have the Georgetown Farmer’s market where they block off a section of the street for local vendors to come in and sell their goods. If you haven’t been, you need to check it out. There are so many yummy treats to try! 

For the family-minded, in addition to great schools, there are a ton of parks and activities for children to enjoy. One of our favourite year-round destinations is Gellert Community Centre. In the summer and fall we love to use the tennis courts, and in the winter my son loves to swim in the indoor play pool.

There’s also a ton of greenspace and trails for the outdoor lover. Hungry Hollow Trail just finished an 800m addition, making the loop a total of just over 6km. It’s incredibly beautiful, especially in the fall when the leaves start to change.
